Chocolate dipped strawberries
There is something so great about the combination of rich velvety cacao and the natural sweetness of fresh strawberries. If you are looking for a healthy treat that will satisfy your sweet cravings, you need to try these cacao-dipped strawberries.
I’d recommend making this recipe when strawberries are ripe and in season so they are sweet and juicy. This recipe is gluten and dairy free!
Ingredients
1 cup cacao powder
½ cup coconut oil
4 tablespoons maple syrup
12 ripe strawberries
Tip: Use room-temperature strawberries and ensure they are completely dry after washing them.
Method
Fill a small saucepan ¼ of the way with water. Place on the stove and bring to the boil.
Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat. Place a glass bowl on top of the saucepan making sure the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water.
Add the maple syrup and coconut oil to the glass bowl, and stir until melted.
Slowly add the cacao powder, stirring a small amount at a time.
Once all the ingredients are combined, remove from the heat.
Dip each strawberry in the cacao mixture and place them on a tray with baking paper.
Place the tray of strawberries in the fridge to set.
