Cacao bark with coconut, hazelnuts and pepitas (GF and DF)
Indulge your sweet tooth guilt-free with this delightful recipe for cacao bark. It’s a fantastic alternative to store-bought chocolate, this homemade treat combines the rich flavours of cacao with the natural sweetness of coconut and hazelnuts. This recipe is easy and quick to make.
Ingredients
½ cup raw cacao
¼ cup coconut oil
2 tablespoons
¼ cup roasted hazelnuts, chopped
1 tablespoon organic shredded coconut
2 tablespoon pepitas
Method
Line a tray with baking paper
Using a medium saucepan, fill ¼ way with water. Place on the stove and bring to the boil.
Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat. Place a glass bowl on top of the saucepan making sure the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water.
Add the maple syrup and coconut oil to the glass bowl, stir until melted.
Slowly add the cacao powder, stirring in a small amount in at a time.
Once the ingredients are combined, spread the mixture on the baking tray. Sprinkle with the coconut, hazelnuts and pepitas.
Place in the fridge to set.
Break up and enjoy!
